Kartikeya Sarabhai is one of the world's leading environmental educators and a dedicated community builder. He was educated at Cambridge University, U.K and MIT, USA.
Mr. Sarabhai is the founder director of the Centre for Environment Education headquartered at Ahmedabad, with 40 offices across India. CEE’s primary focus has been greening of India's formal education system and Education for Sustainable Development. He has contributed to the global processes at the UN in the formulation of the SDGs.
Mr. Sarabhai is a Trustee of the Sabarmati Ashram and Co Chair of the Earth Charter International Council and he is also the Co Chair of the first Priority Action Area of UNESCO– Global Action Plan.
Mr. Sarabhai was awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India in 2012. He also received International Brandwein Medal awarded by the IUCN-CEC in recognition of his lifetime work for inspiring new generations to experience, embrace and love nature first hand.
